Established in 2001, the Oman Medical Association brings together leading doctors and healthcare professionals across the Sultanate. We strive to advance the medical profession, enhance doctors' expertise, and promote public health awareness.

Who we are?

Oman Medical Association (OMA) was established under a Royal Decree in 2001 to help raise awareness about health issues, increase the level of professionalism in the Omani medical community and act as a link to the Ministry of Health (MoH). OMA aims to enhance quality and standard of medical practice in Oman by advocating a healthy working environment for the members and supporting their continuous professional development.

The Board of Directors manages the affairs of the association and is collectively responsible to the Ministry for all its actions in accordance with the provisions of the law and the association’s bylaws.

The bylaws of Oman Medical Association allow the formation of scientific societies in specific disciplines/specialties, as deemed appropriate by the association. Among the currently recognized scientific societies are:
